The MacKinnon Psychology and Counseling Clinic offers free, short-term counseling with trained therapists. You can have up to eight sessions each academic year. The clinic is in the Muirhead Center.
Therapists can help with anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, grief, self-esteem, stress and much more. The clinic may have a waiting list, and students are seen in the order they ask.
If you need ongoing counseling, the clinic, Student Connections and Thriving Campus can refer you to a therapist in the community.
If you are short on food, need a ride, are at risk of losing housing, or need clothing or other essentials, talk to the Student Connections Coordinator. They will connect you with campus resources and community partners.
The Student Emergency Needs Grant can give a one-time grant of up to $500 per calendar year to a student facing an unexpected hardship. Start by meeting with the Student Connections Coordinator, who will review your situation and help you apply.
